HUP!

This is my first indie game dev project. I've been working on it since Halloween of 2023. My goal with this project was to see if I was capable of learning visual coding by making a small scale arcade game all by myself. I've been in the game industry for 9 years working in cinematics but knew nothing about programming, design, and well most of everything that doesn't involve visual storytelling. The game is inspired by Island Hopping which was made by Praetor57 in 2010. I tried to reach out to them but had no luck so if you're out there thank you for inspiring me!

About The Game

A game of precision, focus and endurance. Your goal is to jump from platform to platform while racking up the highest score you can. Looking up will decrease gravity allowing you to jump higher & further. Looking down will increase gravity shooting you toward the ground. The easiest way to get a high score is to touch as many green/pink/yellow platforms as possible while ignoring the gray and reds which will break your combo. The higher combo you have the higher score you're awarded.

There's a lot of nuance to the controls and the way things work and the best way is to experiment on your own. Good luck!

Controls

Mouse = Look

Spacebar= Jump & Double Jump

Extra Info

• In the game over screen you can jump after a short delay to automatically start the level over again.
• Menus must be navigated with a mouse. No controller support for this release, sorry.
• Information regarding how the platforms work as well as assigning custom colors can be found in the options menu!
• The music system will advance to new parts of the song when you get a pickup.
